As with any beloved comic character being brought to the silver screen, there is going to be a buzz around the actor/actress playing that role. Zack Snyder is slated to bring Wonder Woman to a theater near you (Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice) and his choice of actress to portray the Amazonian wonder did not meet with the greatest of applause. Snyder chose Gal Gadot for the role of Wonder Woman and he took to the Twitterverse on Saturday to reveal Gadot sporting her best Wonder Woman pose. There was immediate response from blogs and fans alike. Some good and some bad, which is kind of expected. Check out Snyder’s tweet below.

Judging from this picture I’m finding it hard to grasp Gadot as Wonder Woman. I think most of us have a vision of what Wonder Woman looks like, I mean who didn’t watch Lynda Carter in the Wonder Woman television show? Lynda was an amazing woman with some amazingly blessed physical attributes. So Gadot doesn’t have those attributes, not by a long shot. But maybe Snyder is attempting to get past that sexualization of the character and build on the Wonder Woman’s smart wit and excellent combat abilities? Who says you have to have big boobs to kick butt?
I’m playing devil’s advocate right now, I’m in the same boat as many, the over emphasize on WW’s measurements has me thinking Gadot is not the right lady for this. But maybe, just maybe, we’re the ones who are totally wrong about this. Maybe Gadot’s acting abilities and Snyder’s script are all that this character needs? Well, I’m still skeptical, but I am willing to give her a chance, this is one movie I will be seeing in theater. What do you think?
