I grew up watching wrestling. From the NWA and AWA to the WCW and WWF (now WWE). By far my favorite wrestler of all time was Randy “Macho Man” Savage. He was charismatic, cocky, flamboyant, all the things that make a great “I like him and hate him” kind of guy. I like to say that Randy was an anti-hero and if you know me, I like the anti-hero characters.
I purchased my own set of Randy Savage sunglasses and made my own Randy Savage robe (it was horrible). I jumped off very high places and elbow dropped stacks of pillows and sometimes my friends. Yeah, I was what we now call a fanboy.
Now Todd McFarlane of McFarlane Toys (and Spawn fame) has introduced an amazing looking “Macho Man” Randy Savage statue! The statue is about 20″ tall and limited to 500 pieces so better take a look quick. Here’s what McFarlane’s website says about the statue.
Standing approximately 20 inches tall, this cold-cast, limited-edition resin statue was created, developed and designed by Todd McFarlane and his award-winning McFarlane Toys design group, in conjunction with WWE. Displayed on a 360-degree rotating base, “Macho Madness” can reign supreme at every angle! The “Macho Man” Randy Savage statue is limited to only 500 pieces, each with a sequentially numbered plaque and Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed by Todd McFarlane. As an added bonus, an authentic piece of an arena banner from WrestleMania V is included with each statue.
While this statue has its own level of awesomeness, it does come with a price, $295 greenbacks to be exact. So be sure to check out McFarlane’s Online store if you want to pick this up and let us know if you do.
