The day Xbox Minecraft fans have been waiting for is arriving this Friday as the Minecraft Xbox One Edition launches on the Xbox One. The popular digital building game will initially only be available for download on the Xbox store.

The next generation version of Minecraft features a world 36 times the size as the Xbox 360 version. Any content users purchased on the Xbox 360 will also transfer over to the Xbox One version – welcome news for players who have already purchased downloadable content. As well, any worlds that you created on the Xbox 360 are fully transferrable to the Xbox One so you don’t have to start over and can continue, and expand, your existing creations.

Later this month, gamers can purchase the full game Digital Download Code at select retailers, and a physical disc version will be available this holiday season.
