There’s no question more than a few Marvel fans are waiting for the second season of their TV tie-in. The wait became a little more (un)bearable as Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 teaser has officially dropped on YouTube.
While there are no real spoilers in the teaser clip, there may be some below the video – you’ve been warned! Without further ado…
The first season started out strong, then seemed to drop a bit but picked up in great Marvel fashion in the latter half of the season. Viewers were definitely left with questions as the future of S.H.I.E.L.D. hangs in the balance between events in the show and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I for one am excited to see what’s next for Agent Coulson and the rest of the team now that S.H.I.E.L.D. has effectively been dissolved with Nick Fury “promoting” Coulson as the new leader of the remnants of the once powerful organization.
An organization in shambles, on the run, trying to rebuild, yet trying to remain true to their directive to protect the innocent, I think this Coulson voiceover from the trailer sums up what we can hopefully expect in season 2 – a more shadowy, covert S.H.I.E.L.D.
The dead… will disappear, become ghosts. That’s how we have to live now… in the shadows.
Hopefully we get more cameos this year as Nick Fury was the biggest cameo we saw last season. It is inevitable the show will tie into some of the Marvel movies due out next year, and it’d be awesome to see some higher profile appearances – especially with the released of the next Avengers movie in May.
