Welcome to The Playlist! This is the weekly column, out every Friday, that lets you know what video games the MOARGeek staff is playing. If a title interests you, click on one of the images under the corresponding Download/Purchase header and game your heart out!

Now, enough dilly-dallying – let’s take a look at this week’s Playlist!

Far Cry 3 – First Person Shooter

Far Cry 3 isn’t a new game by any means, and it’s probably not a perfect game, but it’s definitely a fun game. You find yourself on a tropical island, thrown into a struggle trying to rescue your friends, all while trying not to lose yourself in the process. The entire game takes place through the eyes of Jason Brody (including cut-scenes, which can be a little jarring in a first-person view), and you’ll find yourself killing pirates, hunting animals, crafting supplies, and searching for revenge. I’ve finished this game twice now, it’s a fun shooter with a decent story that you should be able to find pretty cheap on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. If you like shooters, I’d recommend giving this one a look. If you like shooters, I’d recommend giving this one a look.

Forza Horizon 2 – Racing

OMG it’s finally here! Playground Games follow up to Forza Horizon is absolutely terrific! If you’re a racing game fan, but not a huge fan of Forza Motorsport because it feels to closed, Forza Horizon 2 is the game for you. This one has a more arcade feel to it, and is open world – you can drive just about anywhere you want, including off road! The visuals are stunning as is expected from the Forza series, and the introduction of weather effects – yes, it rains! – has added a new element to the game, and boy, the trailers of the weather effects don’t do it justice! The transition between local play and online play is seamless, and there’s no shortage of events to complete or cars to buy. It’s only been a few days since it hit, but I can see myself playing this for months to come.

And hey, if you’re not sure, you can always download the demo on Xbox One and give it a spin!

Hyrule Warriors – Action RPG

I’ve been playing this almost nonstop during my free time over the past week, and I can’t wait to get my review written up for it over the weekend. Finally getting to dig my teeth into Adventure Mode, which is a unique twist on the Dynasty Warriors formula. Seems really fun!

That’s it for this week’s installment of The Playlist! What are you playing this week? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter!
