Get Exclusive Access To BlizzCon 2014 With Virtual Tickets On Sale Now

If you want to catch everything happening at BlizzCon 2014 next week but don’t have the cash, time, or ability to travel all the way out to Anaheim, California for it, fear not, as Blizzard is selling virtual tickets to the event. These $40 passes will get you access to exclusive interviews, contests, in-game bonuses, contests, and a closing ceremony by Metallica. They have been on sale for a while now, but with only a week left until the actual conference, now is a good time to get them if you have not already.

Perhaps for only the biggest Blizzheads (is ‘Blizzhead’ a thing? Gosh I hope not!), but the virtual tickets will net you exclusive access to developer panels for Blizzards biggest games such as Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, Diablo III, and more. Developer panels such as these usually aren’t where the biggest things are announced, but instead where the details are revealed. Big flashy trailers and name reveals are done at keynote speeches, while everything you actually want to know about upcoming games and expansions are delved into with these developer Q&A sessions. Considering World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor releases just a week after BlizzCon 2014, you can expect a lot of talk about it (and potentially some hints at the next expansion) during the WoW developer panels.

I would say to expect a solid release date for Heroes of the Storm but, given Blizzard’s mantra of “it’s done when it’s done,’ I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Of course there will also be an abundance of (mostly cosmetic) in-game content being given away for those who purchase the virtual tickets. This includes a Grommloc Pet for World of Warcraft, a special edition Blizzard 2014 card back for Hearthstone, exclusive portraits for Starcraft 2, Warlords of Draenor-themed weapon transmogrifications for Diablo III, and a star-themed Nexus mount and portrait for Heroes of the Storm.

Finally, for all those Hearthstone players out there yearning to hear 50-year-old’s rocking out to some heavy metal song’s from the 80’s, the virtual tickets will also include exclusive access to watch Metallica close out the conference on November 8th. The concert is sold out in person, of course, but the virtual ticket will give you “front row seats” to watch the performance live. Because who doesn’t love watching loud blown-out concerts from the comfort of their comfy computer chair?

You can purchase 1 ticket per Battle.net account or as a gift for a friend now from Blizzard for $39.99.
