Joss Whedon may be calling for some Avengers: Age of Ultron reshoots to make the film even more kick-ass, The Daily Mail is reporting. According to the reports, Avengers stars Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hiddleston, and Paul Bettany have been asked by director Joss Whedon and the film’s producers to be available for a two-week period in January. Should any of the actors need to be called, they would be required to fly out to the film’s set in London.
Reshoots are a common practice, especially in big budget action movies such as Age of Ultron, so this shouldn’t worry any fans hoping for another fun experience with the earth’s mightiest heroes. This does come of a bit of a surprise, however, as the extended trailer we were given last month looked extremely complete for a movie that just wrapped up filming. That said, there’s no need to worry about Age of Ultron becoming the next World War Z with its mess of reshoots and rewrites. This should simply be a few more scenes getting beefed up to be even more awesome on screen.
It’ll be interesting to see what Joss Whedon and company plan on injecting some more levels of kick-ass into. The trailer already showed us some great looking scenes with Ultron (voiced by James Spader), Thor bursting out of water shirtless for some reason, and of course, Iron Man breaking out his Hulkbuster armor to take on the big green guy himself.
With the Marvel universe expanding and creating more action-packed movies, it is likely that it needs to ramp up the action even further than it already is. Right or wrong, if fans see a sequel with less explody bits than the movie before it, they’ll likely not be too happy. The only real question will end up being if they take it a bit too far.
We’ll have all of our answers when the film releases May 2015.Source: The Daily Mail
