Oh, Marvel. I want to be mad at you but I just can’t. Normally I’m not a fan of a trailer for a trailer, like they did with Age of Ultron earlier this week, but the way Marvel revealed their first Ant-Man trailer is pretty creative and got a chuckle out of me.
[Update 1/2 3:01PM EST]: Daily Motion user Team Lyrics enlarged the Ant-Man portion of the teaser so you can see what is actually happening. It’s a bit blurry of course, but better than nothing if you can’t wait to see some Paul Rudd as Ant-Man action.
[Update 1/3 2:10PM EST]: Marvel has posted the full-sized version. Woo!
In what they call an “ant-sized” teaser trailer, Marvel’s YouTube channel posted a postage stamp-sized trailer that presumably teases some scenes with Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man. The clip is as short as any teaser trailer, but so small it’s impossible to see anything. At the end of the teaser (thankfully in a readable font) it’s revealed that the full trailer will be played first during Agent Carter when it debuts on ABC January 6th.
What we know so far about the upcoming film isn’t much, outside of the official synopsis which was released a few weeks ago and may point to a tie-in with The Avengers in some way. It will be part of a year to remember for geek movie fans everywhere when it releases in July along with The Avengers: Age of Ultron in May, and Star Was Episode VII coming in December.
