Special Edition Pre-orders Of Majora's Mask 3D Will Come With Skull Kid Figurine

Rarely is pre-ordering a video game a good idea. Best case scenario is you end up getting the game you wanted anyway and could have waited to pay for, and worst case scenario is you just bought an Assassin’s Creed game. But when it comes to the special edition pre-order bonus for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D it may just be worth the risk.

Nintendo has announced that anyone who pre-orders the upcoming 3DS remake of the N64 classic from select retailers (including Amazon) will receive a limited edition Skull Kid figurine. So for $49.99 – or $10 more than the standard purchase – a figurine of Skull Kid popularized in Majora’s Mask can be yours along with the game itself. As of now, this pre-order bonus is available from U.S. retailers only. The European equivalent was revealed in late December and is a (still awesome) paperweight featuring the iconic Skull Kid mask.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D was announced last November during a Nintendo direct after years of speculation that it would never come due to the game’s dark tone. It follows in the footsteps of The Legend of Zelda: Orcarnia of Time 3D which released on the 3DS in 2011, and will feature “updated 3D graphics and new features.”
As expected, the pre-orders on Amazon are already sold out, so until/if they restock, your best bet is to track down a local retailer also running the promotion. Or if you get really desperate just wait until they pop up for $400 on eBay a week after the game releases this spring.
