Postmodern Jukebox Releases New Album "Selfies On Kodachrome"

|

Postmodern Jukebox, a cover band with a unique premise, has released a new album today. Titled “Selfies on Kodachrome,” the album features fifteen tracks, including six never before released songs. Additionally, band founder Scott Bradlee has promised to release music videos for each song on his YouTube channel.
For those unfamiliar, Postmodern Jukebox covers popular songs in different styles. The goal of the group is, in their own words, “commenting on the elasticity of the pop.” They gained some popularity last year when they released “Thrift Shop (Vintage “Grandpa” Style),” which has over six million views as of today. However it was their doo-wop cover of Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” that garnered them the most attention, and at eleven million views it is still the most popular song on their YouTube channel. A personal favorite of mine is their ‘vintage blue grass’ version of “Anaconda” by Nicki Minaj.

Scott Bradlee serves as arranger of most of the songs, as well the pianist for the group and leader. The band rotates singers, and frequently features guests such as Von Smith, the “Sad Clown with the Golden Voice,” and others. Postmodern Jukebox wrapped up their first United States tour last year and is beginning a European tour in February. Check out their YouTube channel, website, or Scott Bradlee’s Facebook page for more information.
