Weird Al took the Internet by storm once again last year when he released his newest album Mandatory Fun, and now he’s taking that act on the road with his Mandatory World Tour. As the name would imply, the tour will span the globe starting Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas and ending in Dublin, Ireland.
It’s hard to imagine a musician that has been around and successful for so long not having a number one album on the Billboard charts, but Mandatory Fun was the first for Weird Al. The album released on July 15, 2014 after a week of smartly uploading music videos for almost every song on the album across the Internet. Through partnerships with The Nerdist, Funny or Die, his own uploads to YouTube and, more he was able to generate a tremendous amount of buzz before the album even dropped.
