The First Trailer For The Fantastic Four Reboot Has Been Released

The trailer for the latest installment of the Fantastic Four series was released earlier today. Sporting a new look with a new cast, the teaser appears to have a much darker vibe than the first two films.

This is the first look at the Fantastic Four since the old Human Torch – played by Chris Evans – moved on to be Captain America. The music provides a more ominous tone to the action and a fresher take on the accident and surrounding events that formed Marvel’s oldest superhero team.
The all-new cast includes Whiplash’s Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, House of Cards’ Kate Mara as Invisible Woman, Friday Night Lights’ Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch and Turn’s Jamie Bell as The Thing. Doctor Doom appears to be the main antagonist once again, and is set to be played by Toby Kebbell of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
With the last Fantastic Four film released in 2007, the near eight year buffer serves as sufficient time to completely overhaul the series, similar to what Sony did following Spider-Man 3. With a new director Josh Trank and writers Jeremy Slater and Simon Kinberg, who wrote the screenplay for the very successful X-Men: Days of Future Past, this new film plans to breathe new life into the series the second time around.
The Fantistic Four reboot is set to be released on August 7.
