After releasing the dreaded “teaser for a teaser” yesterday, Netflix finally dropped the full 90-second teaser trailer for its upcoming exclusive series, Daredevil. The short teaser shows Matt Murdock being the acrobatic, unforgiving fighter that he should be. We also get a first glimpse at how the series will portray Daredevil’s trademark blindness as he perceives the world around him.
Daredevil is the first of four planned Marvel series coming exclusively to Netflix that will lead into a Defenders crossover miniseries. Following in the steps of the Daredevil series will be Netflix-exclusive series based on Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.
The series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. Most interesting is Rosario Dawson playing Claire Temple – a character most often linked to Luke Cage, which may make her the first solid link between the Marvel Netflix superfecta.
When Daredevil officially makes its way onto Netflix on April 10th, it will be yet another domain that the Marvel Universe makes its mark on. While it has been relatively weak in TV presence (having only Agents of SHIELD and the miniseries Agent Carter under its belt), a solid Netflix lineup should help them compete with DC Comics own TV offerings, of which there are several of high-quality.
