Charlie Hunman & Tom Hiddleston Star In Trailer For Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak

|

The first trailer for Crimson Peak dropped earlier today, and wow is it ever a Guillermo del Toro trailer. Full of imagery that is as creepy as it is creative, this next big project from the director of Pacific Rim and Pan’s Labyrinth looks to be another haunting, atmospheric experience.
Along with the trailer came the film’s first synopsis.

In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds… and remembers.

Crimson Peak is a project that has been in the works for a while now for director/writer Guillermo del Toro. Originally written shortly after the equally eerie Pan’s Labyrinth was released, the script for Crimson Peak was sold off to Universal. Filming was postponed while del Toro took time to direct Hellboy II: The Golden Army as well as work on The Hobbit films (which would later be passed back to Peter Jackson).

When Crimson Peak releases on October 16, 2015 it will star Charlie Hunman, Jessica Chastain, and Tom Hiddleston. The film is directed by Guillermo del Toro and being written by del Toro along with Matthew Robbins. Both del Toro and Matthews are also currently working on a script for Pinocchio, which is a darker twist on the well-known fairy tale.
