The first trailer for Disney’s upcoming animated short Frozen Fever was revealed during the Disney-owned Good Morning America earlier today. The short teaser shows characters Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff – who are all being voiced by the original cast of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Jonathan Gruff – preparing for a birthday party.
Elsa and Kristoff are preparing a birthday celebration for Anna. But in fairy-tale fashion, things go awry and Elsa’s ice powers have a few unintended consequences. Still, Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give Anna the best celebration ever.
The Oscar-winning Frozen directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will be returning to direct the short. Writers of the obscenely catchy “Let It Go,” Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, are also on board to write a new original song for Frozen Fever. The animated short will air exclusively before showings of the live-action Cinderella film beginning on March 13th.
While there is currently no announced sequel to the 2013 mega-hit, given how much money the animated feature has made, one is expected to be coming down the pipe in the near future. A recently announced Frozen Broadway show is also expected to release sometime in 2017.
