Halfbrick Studios, creators of the popular mobile game Fruit Ninja which was later ported to the Xbox 360 in the form of Fruit Ninja Kinect, has announced that Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 will be hitting the Xbox One on March 18th.
Developed by Hibernum Creations in Montreal, the game takes place at the Blueberry Moon festival and features five new game modes and will include four-person multiplayer, a new progression system, and an expanded line-up of characters. Guided by Katsuro, Mari, Han, and Nobu, players will be dodging shurikens, hacking through bamboo forests, and avoiding spotlights. The new multiplayer system will consist of both Battle and Party modes.

“This is the most satisfying, complete, and accessible party game ever created,” said Shainiel Deo, chief executive at Halfbrick Studios. “The new Kinect sensor makes a world of difference, and Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 has been built from the ground up to take full advantage of the latest hardware.”

Louis-René Auclair, Vice-President and Chief Brand Officer at Hibernum goes on to say

“We are really excited to enter the console market with an amazing brand like Fruit Ninja. It was a pleasure to work with Halfbrick on this game and we are extremely proud of what we’ve created together.”
