Custom RC Tie Interceptor Lights Up The Night Sky, Our Geek Hearts

French YouTuber and DIY drone enthusiast Olivier C is back with another great Star Wars-related build. He first wow’d the Internet with his Millennium Falcon design last month, and now he’s back with a stellar RC Tie Interceptor design. In the two videos posted by Olivier C, the impressively-accurate Interceptor – complete with tiny little blasters and light-up thrusters – can be seen hovering around ready to shoot down any Rebel scum who built an RC X-Wing.

Olivier C was also kind enough to post a very detailed DIY guide to build the custom drone, complete with images and step-by-step instructions on how to create it yourself. It’s not a simple task, but workable if you have access to AutoCAD 2014, a whole lot of A4 sheets, acrylic paint, craftsman tools, and the skill to use it all.
He also posted a full list of the technical bits of the drone:

A quadcopter : Prophecy 335 (custom frame, carbon and aluminium)
Motors : T-Motors 2208-18 1100kV
Speed controllers : T-Motors T30A
Propellers : HQprop 8×4.5SF
Battery: LiPo 4S-1800mAh
Flight controller : Naza v1
Radio system : Futaba 14SG, receiver FrSky TFR6
Ground camera : Gopro 4 Silver 1080p-50
Weights :
– Quad + battery : 810gr
– Tie Interceptor : 400gr

You may recall an earlier Millennium Falcon also made by the same person, which can be seen below. Equally as cool, but one of the better parts of this Tie Interceptor is that the side panels (which also double as solar panels) hide the drone body, while the Falcon needs to keep holes where the blades of the quadcopter are spinning.
