The first trailer for Community season six was recently released by Yahoo!, and it gives the formerly NBC-owned show the superhero treatment. It features the same beats and dramatic thrums of the Age of Ultron trailers, complete with a voiceover from the Honest Trailers guy. Will Community‘s transition to Yahoo! be successful or will it be another season four debacle? Who knows, but at least they put on a hell of a trailer.
Forgoing the Netflix method of distributing digital TV shows, Community will be released every Tuesday exclusively on Yahoo! starting March 17. As of now, this sixth season of the show is the final one planned, but series creator Dan Harmon has said many times that he’d be willing to create more seasons if the world “wants more Community.” Sticking to the show’s “six seasons and a movie” mantra, a film is also reportedly in the early stages of development, but it may have been put on hold to create this sixth season.
The season is being promoted by Yahoo! with the hashtag #CommunityLivesOn on social media, and conversations using the ‘tag are being displayed beneath trailer. A practice I’m sure the Internet won’t exploit in any way once it gets the chance.
