Mark your calendars! Following last week’s teaser trailer, Halo fans were treated to not one but two new Halo 5: Guardians trailers and a release date during tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead as part of the ongoing #HUNTtheTRUTH campaign. In case you missed the teaser which features a bullet stamped with the word “TRAITOR” on it spiralling towards Master Chief, you can check it out below.

The first new trailer features Spartan Locke walking through the rubble of what looks like a destroyed city towards a statue of Master Chief. As we already know, Spartan Locke was tasked with tracking down Master Chief after he goes rogue and disappears. The trailer appears to be a culmination of that search.

All hail the conquering hero. Let us remember him as our protector, and not as the one who gave us… this. As our saviour, and not as our behaviour. Let us see him forever as you… and not as you. All hail the conquering hero. The one who was supposed to save us all. But now I must save us, from you.

Pretty ominous words from Locke which adds some intrigue to the story of the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians game. But wait… later in the episode a second trailer appeared which appears to be a flipside of the same “truth” – this time Master Chief’s version.

This… is this what you wanted? Is this what you were looking for? Was everything you’ve compromised, everything you’ve done… worth it? Was it? You’ve completed your mission, Spartan Locke. Mine… is just beginning.

These two trailers are definitely setting up for an interesting storyline, and perhaps even game choice mechanic. If there are two versions of the story being shown already, will we have the opportunity to pick a side? If that is the case, which side would you pick – #TeamCHIEF or #TeamLOCKE? We’ll have to wait to find out on October 27th, 2015 as “the hunt begins Fall 2015 with the release of Halo 5:Guardians where the truth is never what it seems”, exclusively on the Xbox One.
