First Full Ant-Man Trailer Released

|

After teasing such a trailer during last night’s MTV awards, Marvel has released the first full-length Ant-Man trailer early this morning. In the 2:29 trailer we see a lot of footage from the first teaser trailer that released earlier this year, as well as a boatload of new footage, including some tiny Yellowjacket on tiny Ant-Man action.

The trailer also shows a lot of iconic moments from the comic series, such as Lang shrinking down and running with ants, running along a gun, and taming ants for his own use. One thing that still hasn’t been shown, but I really hope is in the final film, is Lang going inside a weapon and dismantling it. That’s always been one of my favorite uses of the Ant-Man powers.

On top of iconic moments, we also see some first and extended looks at characters in the film. Evangeline Lilly as Hank Pym’s daughter, Hope, handles some of the narration, and at the very end we get a few glimpses of Corey Stoll as the main villain Yellowjacket fighting Ant-Man.

Even with a few funny lines and an ending involving Thomas the Tank Engine, the trailer mostly features the same serious tone of the first teaser. It’s once again narrated by Michael Douglas as Hank Pym for the most part, and reinforces the idea that Lang is receiving the Ant-Man suit in the film as a way of redemption from his past crimes.

Ant-Man is set to be released in theaters on July 17, 2015.
