Well, it seems the Dave Chappelle comeback tour may have hit a sour note in Detroit Thursday night with fans demanding refunds of their tickets. According to TMZ sources Chappelle’s performance was less than stellar and borderline drunken all the while Chappelle smoked cigarettes. There was a point in the show where Chappelle simply read a book an audience member had handed to him that didn’t gain much applause. Fans took to social media outlets to voice their displeasure with the performance and with Dave.
“Horrible, don’t go. Second show last night was ridiculous. Walked out. Did not get what I paid for….. refunds please!”
“Dave Chappelle sucked, he hardly made any jokes at all. At least The Fillmore is a very nice concert venue! Wish he actually had an act or routine besides people shouting out topics! Loved the comedian before him and DJ Trauma was amazing! Wish I could have said the same thing about Chappelle. Wish I could get a refund somehow or at least a performance where he isn’t high and/or wasted.
Dave’s representatives have chimed in on the controversy saying that Dave was simply having an off night, that very well could be and everyone is entitled to one of those every so often.
