Do you want to be shook all night long? Well, now you can as AC/DC has finally decided to put its music catalog on multiple streaming services including Apple Music, Google Play, Rdio and Spotify. While they’ve long held out, the Australian rockers made the plunge reversing a long-held belief that their albums should be heard in full instead of individually. They finally join their contemporaries, like Metallica, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles, in doing so.
The band’s hit the major services yesterday, and their streaming catalog includes all their albums plus a number of tracks seen in movies as well as live ones. Even Back in Black, the album that has sold over 22 million copies and is the third best selling album of all time, is available for your listening pleasure. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) the band has sold over 72 million records in just the United States alone.
The band first broke into the tech age by making its 2012 album Rock or Bust available on iTunes for the first time. The move comes in the wake Apple’s new streaming service, and is one heralded by longtime AC/DC fans. Personally, I’ve been rocking them non-stop on Play Music‘s All Access since yesterday morning after I found out it was available.
