There have been a few men who have attempted to portray the psychotic yet lovable character that is The Joker. For the most part fans tend to agree that there have been two men to have done it well, Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. The former being the fan favorite for the intensity that he brought to the role and the obvious study he put into the character. Next year another man is slated to take the reigns of the joker on his shoulders and that is Jared Leto. There has been much discussion as to Leto’s ability and looks to portray The Joker but we finally have a bit of an idea of what he’ll bring to the table in this leaked Suicide Squad trailer from ComicCon.
UPDATE (07/13/2015): After the footage was leaked this past weekend, Warner Bros. Pictures has officially uploaded the trailer to YouTube.
Overall Suicide Squad itself looks pretty awesome, most movie goers will likely have little clue who or what the Suicide Squad is or are. But they’ll likely be drawn in by The Joker’s character and the fact that Jared Leto is playing him. You can see in the trailer there is just a line or two of dialogue but in that short span you get the feeling that Leto may just be able to pull this off. As much as we loved Ledger’s version of The Joker that time has passed and it’s time to give a chance to the new guy and from just a few seconds of screen time, I believe that Leto just might be on the right track.
