Wreck-It Ralph (2012) was a box office hit, grossing almost $50 million on its opening weekend, breaking Disney’s box-office record of animated films opening weekends. The film, to date, has grossed $189 million domestically and $281 million abroad, according to boxofficemojo.com. Reilly voiced the star, Sir-Wreck-It himself, Ralph, along with co-stars Sarah Silverman (Vanellope), Jack McBrayer (Felix), Jane Lynch (Calhoun), Alan Tudyk (King Candy), and Mindy Kaling (Taffyta Muttonfudge). In a 2012 interview with moviehole.net, Reilly, Silverman, and Director Rich Moore were adamant that a sequel would be happening and that all would be eager to reprise their respective roles. Moore went on to say his plans for the sequel would involve introducing Mario into Ralph’s video game world, an intention he had for the original film but was unable to find a good spot for.
