Deadpool‘s got a lip on him but he can’t smoke a pipe —we’ve got proof. While everyone’s been awaiting the launch of the official Deadpool trailer coming Tuesday, 20th Century Fox has something to make the wait easier – a trailer trailer. The teaser features the “Merc with a Mouth” at his irreverent best, referring to the irony of Deadpool’s mouth being sewn shut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Also thrown under the bus is Ryan Reynolds himself, who’s called a “five-time Academy Award viewer” in the video.

Ryan Reynolds is set to appear on Conan tomorrow, which is when the official trailer will be revealed. There was some drama surrounding the trailer after unauthorized footage of its Comic-Con preview leaked online. Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox attempted to get the pirated content pulled down initially, but resorted to officially releasing the Suicide Squad trailer later.

In the comic books, Wade Wilson is an ex Special Forces operative who assumes the alter ego Deadpool after a botched experiment leaves him with a superhuman capacity for recovery from injury. Possibly the most distinct character from the Marvel Comics universe, Deadpool is portrayed as a twisted mercenary with a gift of the gab. Interestingly the character started out as super-villain in early appearances in the The New Mutants. The character arc through later issues sees him making the transition into being an antihero

Ryan Reynolds reprises his role as Deadpool after X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The movie also stars TJ Miller as Weasel, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Ed Skrein as Ajax, and former UFC star Gina Carano as Angel Dust. Tim Miller is at the helm with a script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, known for ZombielandDeadpool releases February 12, 2016.
