CD Projekt RED has announced that the first The WItcher 3 expansion pack, “Hearts of Stone,” will be released next month on October 13th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the better games as of late (check out our review), and by the looks of the expansion teaser below, “Hearts of Stone” will continue to uphold that.

Step once again into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer, now hired to defeat a ruthless bandit captain, Olgierd von Everec, a man who possesses the power of immortality. The expansion lets you choose your own path through an experience that includes recruiting a crew of break-in artists, spending a night partying with a ghost and outsmarting the most bizarre creatures Geralt has ever faced.

“Hearts of Stone” will consist of over 10 hours of new adventures with new characters, a unique romance (because where would Geralt be without someone new to romance?), and a brand new storyline which continues to be shaped by choices players make. A new system of Runewords will also be introduced which will impact different aspects of in-game mechanics.

For those fans of Gwent, the card game within The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt RED has also announced the release of special, limited boxed edition of Hearts of Stone (SRP $19.99) available at selected retailers worldwide. The box will contain two physical decks of Gwent cards – Monsters and Scoia’tael – and a detailed manual explaining the rules. The set will also contain a digital download code for the expansion. For those who own the digital Expansion Pack, details on redeemgwent.com outlines how they can purchase the cards separately.
