Victor Vran Goes Hardcore; Digital Soundtrack & Artbook Released

We recently reviewed Victor Vran, the ARPG from Haemimont Games that easily found its way towards the top of our favourite ARPG games. In order to provide even more gaming choice to its player base, the developer has released Hardcore and Casual modes allowing players to fine tune the difficulty in Victor Vran.

Veteran hunters are challenged to create a Hardcore character and play the game without dying. Hardcore characters can only use equipment found by themselves or other Hardcore characters. If your Hero dies, he isn’t lost completely; he loses his Hardcore status and can still be played.

If you want a more relaxed experience you can switch to the new Casual difficulty and have lots of fun dominating the hordes of monsters. You can switch back and forth between Casual and Normal difficulty at any time.

In addition to the new Hardcore and Casual difficulty modes, the orchestral soundtrack to the game (which is fantastic by the way) and a 194 page Digital Artbook can now be purchased via Steam. For those who want to pick up just the soundtrack, you can do so on iTunes. To give you a taste of the music of Victor Vran, check out the live recording session of the “Archdemon” track, composed by George Strezov and performed by the renowned Sofia Session Orchestra.

Haemimont Games has also posted on Steam outlying the post-launch roadmap with additions that are sure to keep the game fresh for some time to come. Some of the new features coming include a new Highlander outfit, new spellcaster type weapon, new endgame map, Halloween update, emotes like dance and flex, local co-op, matchmaking for PvP and PvE arenas, and an expansion called “Through the Ages” which will feature a new story and a new world inspired by Motörhead’s history and lyrics. All the updates are listed as being free with the exception of the expansion. I know I’m looking forward to it though!

Have you picked up Victor Vran yet? If so, what do you think of the game and the upcoming changes? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
