It’s that time of the week for Destiny players and it looks like Xur’s Location for Oct. 16-17 will be right across Crucible quartermaster Lord Shaxx this weekend. This week the Agent of the Nine has a number of items on-sale, including a brand new special weapon.
No Backup Plans
Up first is the Titan gauntlets No Backup Plans. The main perk for these gauntlets is Force Multiplier. The multiplier will enable force barrier automatically with shotgun kills. The perk also increases the duration of said force barrier.
Cost: 13 Strange Coins
Don’t Touch Me
Next up is Hunter Gauntlets. The Don’t Touch Me gauntlets are for Hunters who tend to go in for a quick melee kill before ducking out. The main perk of these gauntlets is whenever a Hunter takes melee damage, they will temporarily go invisible, allowing them to make a quick escape.
Cost: 13 Strange Coins
The Stag
Another Taken King exotic, The Stag, is available again for Warlocks. It was available the first week Xur was back after the Taken King dropped, so if you missed the helmet, now’s your chance. The main perk of this helmet is that once per life, your super will recharge a lot faster when your teammates are dead. The added benefit is that if you die, there’s a chance you’ll spawn with an overshield on revival.
Cost: 13 Strange Coins
Hereafter
Today, we’re seeing a brand-new weapon grace Xur’s wares for the weekend. The Arc-blasting Hereafter sniper rifle offers some pretty decent perks for PvP and PvE. The Hereafter offers three decent perks, one named after the gun itself. The Hereafter perk allows you to zoom in closer on enemies when crouched while also making it easier to shoot while under fire. The next perk is called Perfectionist. It will refund all four shells if your four shots end up being precision kills. The final perk is blinding light. Basically, if you get a precision kill with this weapon, you have a chance of blinding enemies close to you.
Cost: 23 Strange Coins
Heavy Weapon Engram
Xur is also selling the Legacy Heavy Weapon Engram yet again. The engram will give you a year one exotic heavy weapon from the list of exotic heavy weapons you don’t happen to own. So, if you have every heavy weapon but Truth, you’re most likely to get Truth.
Cost: 31 Strange Coins
Void and Stealth Drives
Xur is also selling the Void and Stealth drives (23 SC each), allowing you to upgrade that rare sparrow into a legendary version. He’s also selling the usual heavy ammo synthesis (1SC each) and Three of Coins (7 SC for five). Xur will also convert two Strange Coins into a Single Mote of Light.
Glass Needles
New this week though is the Glass Needles package (3SC + 3 Motes of Light + 1 Exotic Shard). Introduced Tuesday when patch 2.0.1 dropped, the Glass Needles will allow you to reroll the base stats of exotic gear.
So there you have it. Those are Xur’s wares for the weekend of Oct. 16-17. If anything catches your eye, you’ll want to quickly pick it up as Xur will make his exit from the Tower Sunday morning at 4 a.m. EST.
