Last month Microsoft released the Windows 10 Xbox One beta app for those who want to try out — and provide feedback on — new features before they are released for everyone.

The October update to the Xbox One beta app on Windows 10 has launched with a few notable additions and updates. First off, you can now link your Facebook account and find friends who are on Facebook and might be also be on the Xbox Live service. Hopefully linking to other social media services will be coming soon.

Those in the Windows 10 Insider Program, which gives you access to new test features in Windows 10, now have the option enable voice recording for gaming sessions when using a headset. This can either be enabled for all gaming sessions in the Game Bar settings, or you can use the Windows Key + Alt + M combination to begin recording during a session.

One of the changes that I’m glad is finally here is that when accessing the store, the Windows 10 Store app no longer opens and you can now access both Windows and Xbox games within the Xbox One Beta App itself. The persistent search bar updates when you toggle between Windows 10 or Xbox One games, and if you already own an Xbox One game you can launch it by using the “Play from console” link. As well, a “Redeem a code” link has been added allowing you to redeem a code from the App, and if you get the code as part of a message you can redeem it by clicking the link in the message as well – just like you can on the Xbox One.
