If you’re in the market for a new gaming monitor, you may want to check out Acer’s new Predator Gaming monitors. Expanding on its line-up, the new Predator monitors come in at 27-inches, and feature an aggressive, and yet sleek, design that comes in black with red accents.

Both monitors in the XB 1 series, the XB271HU and XB271HK, feature NVIDIA G-Sync technology. This tech is supposed to reduce screen tearing, reduce display stutter and lag, while sharpening gaming views. Depending on what tickles your fancy, the new monitors come in two flavors.

The XB271HU boasts an edge-to-edge design with zero bezel. It features a WQHD IPS display at 2560×1440 resolution and support for 100 percent of the sRGB color gamut. It also features NVIDIA’s ULMB technology to reduce motion blur in fast-paced gaming environments. The gray-to-gray response time is 4m and a 165Hz overclocking refresh rate.

If the WQHD resolution doesn’t excite you, the XB271HK comes in at a 4K resolution (3840×2160@60Hz). It also boasts a brightness of 300 cd/m2 and 1.07 billion colors. Like the HU, this monitor also features 100-percent sRGB color accuracy. It also has the same 4ms response but with the added bonus of color accuracy both horizontally and vertically at viewing angles up to 178 degrees. Each monitor has GameView technology, allowing gamers to toggle between three customizable display profiles, refresh rates and more.

The monitors don’t come cheap. The HK is priced at $799 while the HU is $100 more at $899. While that may be steep for some, both monitors do come with high-quality technical support and are backed by a three-year parts and labor warranty. It will also be available later this month in North America — just in time for the holiday season.
