ProneHub: 10 Percent Drop In Traffic When Fallout 4 Released

There’s no denying that Bethesda‘s Fallout 4 is a big deal. It’s so much of a big deal that ProneHub is reporting a 10 percent drop in traffic. That may not seem like a big deal to some, but 10 percent of 60 million daily users is a fair number of people.

The organization found out this information through an “entirely anonymized” affinity data through Google Analytics and ProneHub’s team of analysts broke down the data even further and the information found is quite interesting.

The company said they saw a five percent increase in traffic among gamers in the early morning hours of 3-4 a.m. At the 5 a.m. mark, though, traffic started dropping. It hit a peak 10 percent drop between 7 a.m. and noon. While traffic returned to the daily norm for the site during the afternoon hours, the site saw another drop after 6 p.m. Traffic returned to normal and increased over the norm after midnight following the game’s release.

From the data, analysts broke down the information even further, finding that sports gamers, action gamers and adventure and strategy gamers were the groups who saw the most drops of traffic. Shooter game fans were the smallest decrease in terms of traffic.

While I’m certain you’re questioning why we here at Techaeris find this interesting enough to report, having a 10 percent drop on the world’s largest p*** website for the release of Fallout 4 adds weight to it being a massive release. For the game, that is.
